My Four Miraculous Treasures

Chapter 19

At the last minute, Willow seized the opportunity to attack. She held Jasper's face with both her hands and pulled him deeper into the kiss, thereby blocking his vision. Then, the children came running out of the office in rapid succession.

Even though they rushed by Willow and Jasper, because of how close the two were standing and the fact that they were too short to see anything, they failed to recognize their mother standing there. They ran into the elevator in a panic, and swiftly made their way downstairs.

Finally, Edith came running out of the office.

The moment she came out, she was greeted by the sight of the couple kissing. Once again, she felt as if she had been struck by lightning. It shook her to the core, and it hurt deeply.

After all, the man kissing was Jasper Hughes the man she had loved for a decade!

She was frozen on the spot, rage and jealousy filling her eyes.

On the other hand, Willow's heart was racing. She was at a loss for what to do.

She could feel Jasper's hot breath scorching her face as they kissed passionately. His lips were burning hot, setting her heart on a wild rhythm.

Willow was so shocked, she forgot how to respond to the situation. They had only kissed for a few seconds, and her brain was already mush. Her world spun as her body went limp. If he hadn't held her up, she would have collapsed on the floor.

She was being carried away when she suddenly felt his arm reach under her clothes and stroked her back, sending a burst of electricity through her body.

Willow's brain snapped back to reality. She shuddered when she realized what they had been doing, and quickly pushed him away. "What are you doing, Mr. Hughes?"

Her crystal clear eyes were wet with tears, but so too were her red lips from making out. At that moment, she looked like a tempting red rose waiting to be picked.noveldrama

Jasper's eyes were deep and dark. His voice was hoarse as he said, "Isn't this what you wanted? Quit acting!"

She clearly enjoyed making out with him. Why else would she have pulled him closer?

Willow gasped. When she remembered that she had lost her composure, she quickly jumped out of his arms.

Due to her fear of thunder, she leaped into his arms without even realizing it.

Ever since that thunderstorm five years ago, when she was deprived of her innocence by a man who appeared from nowhere in that dilapidated house, she had developed an irrational fear of thunder. Whenever there was a thunderstorm, her heart would be filled with dread. She would immediately start to look for a warm place to take shelter in. At home, she would hide under her quilt.

While she tried many methods to overcome her psychological fear of thunder, it was to no avail.

What happened today was unprecedented. In her desperation, she subconsciously jumped into the arms of her boss.

Willow felt both embarrassed and guilty. She scratched her head, and smiled apologetically at him. "I'm so sorry, Mr. Hughes. I'm just really afraid of thunder. I didn't mean to offend you." She had a slender build and a height of five foot five. Jasper, standing over six feet tall, towered over her.

He gazed at her long, beautiful lashes. In her nervousness, they fluttered like butterfly wings.

Jasper wiped the corner of his mouth, which was still wet with saliva. Suppressing the anger in his voice, he asked, "Tell me, where are you from?"

Whether it was the touch of her skin or the sweetness of her lips, everything about Willow reminded him of the woman from five years ago. He suspected that Willow was that very person. If she really was that woman from five years ago, and if she really hooked up with Dale, he would never forgive her!

And yet, he lost control of himself and made out with her.

All the evidence he found suggested that the woman from before had died in that house when it crashed in on itself. And yet, Willow felt too familiar to him. "..."

"Mr. Hughes!"

Edith leaped forward and quickly interrupted their conversation. She made sure to shoot a disgusted glare at Willow, warning the latter to keep away from Jasper.

In the capacity of Jasper's secretary, Edith reported, "Sir, I've looked into Ms. Nason's background through HR. She is from Scunthorpe Harbor in Bryxton, Janesville."
