My Four Miraculous Treasures

Chapter 30

Willow's heart was beating heavily as she watched Rachel answer the phone.

"Hello, are you the mother of the children?" Tyson asked.

Rachel looked at Willow, who nodded frantically at her.

Rachel understood, and nodded. She then realized that she was on a phone call, so she replied, "Yes."

This time, Tyson's words were heavy and serious.

"Due to your ineffective supervision, your children snuck into our CEO's office this morning. They destroyed our CEO's trophies, stained the sofa, and ruined the table. We waived the cleaning fee for you, but you must pay for the replacement of these items." Willow gritted her teeth, angry and anxious, when she heard that the cleaning fee was waived. Wasn't she the one who cleaned up the CEO's office?

What did they take her for? Free labor?!

Damn businessman! They only cared about profit.

Because the phone was put on speakerphone, the children heard Tyson's every word. They exchanged worried glances.

So he wasn't a scammer!

They did go to the Hughes Corporation that morning, and went to the CEO's office.

Julian was even more dazed. He was frightened and guilty. Oops! He had taken that man as a scammer, and told the man that Hughes Corporation's CEO was his father.

He had gone overboard with his acting, and was now in panic. He knocked his little head, his eyes full of anxiety.

Before Rachel could reply, Tyson cut her off. He had already calculated the amount to be compensated.

"You don't have to pay for the trophies. The sofa is one million dollars, but because it has been used for a while, you'll only have to pay two hundred thousand dollars. As for the table, it's two million dollars. However, it isn't brand new, and only two scratches are found. You'll only have to pay sixty-three thousand dollars. In total, it's two hundred and sixty-three thousand dollars. Do you prefer a card or fund transfer?"noveldrama

Everything was described with frightening clarity.

Rachel was terrified to hear it. Unable to make up her mind, she looked at Willow for help.

Willow was flushed red with anxiety. She frantically gestured to Rachel, making a crying expression.

Rachel immediately understood that she must get their sympathy.

She tried her best to squeeze out two drops of tears, and begged pitifully, "I'm so sorry! I didn't discipline my children well. I know it's all my fault, but I really don't have that much money. I'm a single mother, poor and starved. My income isn't even enough for food. I really can't afford it. I don't have enough money. If you want, you can take my life!"

She burst into tears, snot and all, as if she was desperate and helpless. Even Willow started crying as she watched Rachel's pitiful performance.

Lara heard their conversation in the kitchen. Having understood the situation, she slumped to the ground and began wailing.

"Oh god, why does this always happen to me? I'm already living a hard life, and these little bastards never stop causing me trouble! My life has never been easy, and now, my daughter has to offer her life because of these bastards! What should I do...?" She beat her chest and stomped her feet in frustration, crying her heart out.

The four little children realized they had caused serious trouble. Hailey was terrified; her big, watery eyes were instantly flooded with tears. She started bawling as well, her voice weak and helpless.

"Sniff, sniff...!" she sobbed. "Grandma, I'm so sorry! I promise I won't do it again! Sniff..."

Jasper and Tyson were speechless to hear it.
