My Four Miraculous Treasures

Chapter 97

No, it wasn't her fault!

She squirmed backward, throwing up both hands to shield her face, gesturing surrender even as she flushed bright red.

Jasper peered down at her from above, fighting back all kinds of dark impulses as he followed after her. "So... this is your idea of doing an honest job?"

It was a massive misunderstanding! Willow couldn't see a way out of this anymore...

"It's not like that, sir! I know... how about I scrub down each and every toilet in this entire building?" There was as nothing she could say here, really. She scrambled away from him, and made her escape from his office at last. Now, she needed to prove that she had genuinely come here to be a good janitor, and nothing more. As promised, she went to clean the toilets.

All she'd wanted to do was tell him that she wasn't the one behind those rumors!

But somehow, she'd ended up on her knees before the man, tugging at his trousers.

Thinking back on that scene, Willow blushed furiously.

No... she needed to find out the true source of the rumors, in order to prove her own innocence. As long as there was any suspicion of her guilt, she wouldn't be able to leave this company-because then she'd look really guilty! She got started on the toilets on the lowest floor, and soon she was huffing and puffing from the toil of her labors.

With a heroic effort, she finally finished off the last toilet, on the highest floor.

It was half-past-five, now. She put away the mop, and made ready to leave...

But then she remembered Sean Fawcett's new orders: Every day from now on, she'd have to wait for Jasper to leave, and then tidy up his office for him, before she could go. Otherwise, she'd lose half a month's pay! Had he left, yet? She'd have to take a peek inside his office, to find out...

Standing outside the door to his office, she raised a hand to knock... but then she remembered what had happened in there earlier, and she hesitated...

"Looking for Mr. Hughes, Willow?" someone suddenly inquired, from behind.

Willow nearly teapt out of her own skin with fright. Spinning around, she found Jasper's personal aide

Tyson standing there behind heret

She sagged with relief, sighing

heavily. "Mr. Ward, has Mr. Hughes

left for the day?"

"Not yet. I'm just on my way to see him now! Shall we go in together?" Tyson asked with a friendly smile.

Waving her hands anxiously, Willow replied, "N-no need! You go on ahead! I'm good."

And then she hurried away. After all, she'd only wanted to know if Jasper was still in, and Tyson had already told her, so there was no longer any need to see for herself.

Tyson knocked on the door, then went in. He placed some documents on the desk, and said, "The fashion show is tomorrow, sir. Here's some information about our partners." Jasper grunted once in acknowledgment, but didn't look up from his work.

Tyson turned to leave, but thennoveldrama

paused, and added, "I ran into Willow

Nason, just outside your door. It

looked like she wanted to see you about something. When I invited her to come in together with me she ran off

Jasper's eyes were cold, his expression dark. He said nothing.

Seeing this, Tyson gave him a small nod, and then left the office.

Willow spent some time lounging about. At length, she decided that Jasper must have left by now.

Once more, she made her way to his office, and pressed her ear up against his door, listening hard. Suddenly, the door was opened from the other side.

Failing to catch herself in time, she fell right through the doorway...

Jasper caught her by the throat, and e lifted her back up. "Come to finish up your 'honest work' from earlier he murmured softly. "What a lustful harlot you are..."
