The Cherished Wife

Chapter 877

Sean raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised. "No wonder Layla wanted to get rid of Tania at all costs. If I were in her place, I would've done the same.' Jordan's expression darkened, but Sean continued speaking as if oblivious to his discomfort, "If Peter knows his old rival still harbors feelings for his wife, I'm sure-"

"If I remember correctly, Tania and Peter are no longer connected," Jordan interrupted. "It was Peter who chose to let Tania go."

Sean shrugged. "Your love affairs don't interest me. Since you've agreed, I'll take you to her. But have you really thought about what you want? Perhaps you'd like to rid yourself of Layla for good?"

Jordan frowned. "That's my problem, and I'll deal with it myself."

"Fair enough." Since Jordan was clear on his stance, Sean did not push any further. He led Jordan to the underground section of the The Majestic Lounge.

It was Jordan's first time seeing this hidden side of the establishment, and he had not expected it. Even more surprising was learning who was behind The Majestic Lounge.

"Mr. Smith!"

Andrew, seeing Sean arrive with someone, hurried forward. "What brings you here?"

"Where is she?"

"Inside." Andrew glanced at Jordan, his gaze uncertain. "Mr. Smith, Mr. Lennon instructed not to bring anyone in..."

"It's fine. If Peter knew, he'd thank me." Sean waved it off dismissively. "How's she doing?"

"Mr. Hoffman said to make sure she's not killed." Andrew opened the door, and a heavy scent of blood filled the air.

Jordan instantly furrowed his brows. "You..." He had not expected them to be so ruthless, especially after hearing Charles' name mentioned.

"Jordan..."

Layla's weak voice came from

inside, and she tried to crawl toward him but quickly collapsed. She cried out in pain, "Jordan, you're here to save me, right? I knew you wouldn't leave me behind. Hurry, get me out of there... They want me dead!"

Jordan hesitated for a moment at the sound of her voice. Layla struggled to lift herself again. "Jordan... is that you?"

"It's me," Jordan replied, walking toward her. "I came to see you."

He glanced at Sean. "Could we have a moment alone?"

Sean shrugged. "Of course."

Once the door closed, Jordan knelt beside Layla. The room was dim, so he could not see clearly, but the

unmistakable.

"Jordan!"

Layla clutched Jordan's hand desperately. "Are you here to save me? Get me out of here... T-They're going to kill me!"

Jordan gripped her arm firmly. "Layla, they told me you know where Tania is."

Layla suddenly let go, shoving Jordan away. "You're with them too? Hah, all of you just want to know where Tania is!" Jordan frowned. "Do you really know?"

"Hah, so what if I do? I won't tell

you." Layla, who had been tormented beyond recognition over the past few days, felt a surge of hatred for Tania when she realized Jordan was not here solely to save her.

"Why does that country bumpkin, Tania, get so much attention from all of you? I'm the real daughter of the Hoffmans, me!"
